Combed top from Norwegian Spelsau sheep. A dual-coated breed, the Spelsau's outer and undercoats are of similar length, although the outercoat is sleeker and coarser. The two layers play quite well together in this preparation, which has a lovely luster and beautiful rich white color. It felts beautifully and is suitable for rugged winter sweaters and woven blankets.

This takes dye nicely. Has distinct outer and down fibers. Excellent for outerwear. Would not recommend it for next to skin wear. Spun into excellent worsted weight yarn. Blended some with dog hair and resulting yarn was perfect!!
